The double sided horizontal log splitter ROBUST 600 is intended for splitting logs up to 550 mm long and 600 mm in diameter. The ROBUST 600 ensures a highly productive log splitting with the capacity for logs of various diameters and lengths simultaneously with no additional adjustments of the machine.
It comes with a mechanical loading and feeding mechanisms for logs and an automatic out-feed of the split logs with every splitting movement. The split logs are moving along the log splitter to the left and to the right and are unloaded automatically on a transport pallet, while smaller wood chunks are removed. The result is compactly stacked firewood, packed into mesh bags, which drastically accelerates the wood-drying process.
The splitting assembly of the horizontal log splitter has a pusher which is located above the framework of the machine and moves along the splitting table to the set of knives at each side of the splitting table. Each knife set has an unloading table at the opposite side.
A feeding frame is fixed to the pusher with the lower edge in line with the upper part of knife set and upper part of the unloading tables on each side of the splitting table. The width of the feeding frame is essentially equal to the width of the splitting table and the length of one side of the pusher is equal to the length of the knife set and the unloading table.
The upper part of the knife set contains a horizontal knife at the splitting table width and several vertical knives.
The operation of the splitting assembly of the horizontal log splitter begins with loading logs onto the empty splitting table on the side between the pusher and the knife set. The lifting mechanism of the horizontal log splitter for lifting logs from the ground automatically unloads the wood to the splitting assembly area for splitting.
When the pusher movement is activated, it simultaneously pushes all the logs towards the knife set. The horizontal splitting knife splits the lower parts of logs, which are further split by vertical and horizontal knives and passed to the unloading table.
The upper parts of logs are pushed onto the unloading table.
When the pusher movement is activated, it simultaneously pushes all the logs towards the knife set at the opposite side. When the movement is running in the opposite direction, the feeding frame pushes the upper parts of logs from the unloading table onto the empty splitting table for initial loading.
The process of pusher movement with the feeding frame continues until there are no more upper parts of logs left on the splitting deck or until the initial load is finished splitting.
After they are split, the logs move onto the transport slide with the separating device installed at the end. The separating device consists of several poles installed at the sliding level of the slide, which are leading towards the exit for logs The number of poles can be changed according to the desired cleaning level of splinters. For thorough removal of splinters, fewer poles should be installed and, vice versa, for partial cleaning, more poles should be installed. If no cleaning is required, a metal sheet that matches the length of the shorter poles, is to be placed over the poles.
The splitting machine features a sophisticated design and a practical structure for the operational as well as transport position. A large oval protection of the propeller shaft facilitates the connection of the shaft and the couplings structure enables an automatic connection of the log splitter to the three-point hitch of the tractor, if the connection levers of the tractor are equipped with quick couplings with ball valves.
